About DROP DEAD DIVA

When beautiful-but-vapid model wannabe Deb (Brooke D’Orsay) has a fatal car accident, she suddenly finds herself in front of Heaven’s gatekeeper, Fred (Ben Feldman), who declares her a self-centered “zero.” Outraged, she attempts to persuade Fred to return her to her shallow existence but is accidentally relegated to the body of the recently deceased Jane Bingum (Brooke Elliott). A brilliant, thoughtful and plus-size attorney with a loyal assistant (Margaret Cho), Jane has always lived in the shadow of her more comely colleagues whereas Deb has always relied on her external beauty. Now, by a twist of fate and a bolt of divine intervention, both personalities must learn to coexist in Jane’s plus-size frame in the ultimate showdown between brains and beauty. Drop Dead Diva is produced by Sony Pictures Television for Lifetime Television. Josh Berman (Bones, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation) is creator and executive producer. Alex Taub (Eli Stone) joins Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Academy Award®-winning Chicago, Hairspray, Lifetime’s Living Proof) of Storyline Entertainment as executive producers.

Coweta: Backstage Players to Perform "Hello Dolly!"

The Backstage Players of Northgate Senior High are proud to present their annual spring musical production, “Hello Dolly!” The play will run three evenings: Thursday, May 13th, Friday, May 14th and Saturday, May 15th at The Centre For Performing and Visual Arts in Newnan. All shows start at 7 p.m.

“This should be a wonderful show – the students have been working so hard and rehearsing for a few months. Their energy levels are ‘at the top’ and we look forward to a great turn out for Hello, Dolly!” according to Drama Teacher Melanie Bruner.

“Hello Dolly!” is the story of Mrs. Dolly Levi’s efforts to marry Horace Vandergelder, the well-known half-a-millionaire and to send Horace’s money circulating among the people like rainwater, the way her late husband, Ephraim Levi, taught her. Along the way, Dolly succeeds in matching up the young and beautiful Widow Molloy with Vandergelder’s head clerk, Cornelius Hackle; Cornelius’ assistant , Barnaby Tucker, with Mrs. Molloy’s assistant, Minnie Fay; and the struggling artist, Ambrose Kemper, with Mr. Vandergelder’s weeping niece, Ermengarde. When everyone shows up at the swanky restaurant The Harmonia Gardens, mayhem ensues. Dolly is greeted by the waiters, cooks, doormen and wine stewards in one of the most famous songs in the history of American musical comedy, “Hello, Dolly!”

Classical musical numbers include “Put On Your Sunday Clothes,” “Ribbons Down My Back,” “Before The Parade Passes By,” “Elegance,” “It Only Takes A Moment,” “So Long, Dearie,” and “Hello, Dolly!”

Coweta’s Centre For Performing Arts is located at 1523 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan, Georgia. Show dates are Thursday, May 13th, Friday, May 14th and Saturday, May 15th. All shows start at 7 p.m. The Centre staff opens the doors at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are priced at $5. for students and $8. for adults.

Orchestra Seats in First Ten Rows for Avenue Q Available for $25

... day of performance only
... through a ticket lottery at Cobb Energy Centre Box Office

A limited number of seats in the first ten rows of the orchestra will be made available for $25 for every performance of AVENUE Q, the Tony® Award-winning musical, at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The tickets go on sale at the Cobb Energy Centre box office, on the day of performance only, two hours prior to the show and are available through a ticket lottery with a limit of two tickets per person, while supplies last.

In keeping with thematic issues in the show such as living in New York with big dreams and a tiny bank account, the producers of the show are committed to offering these special priced seats in each city the show will play.

Since AVENUE Q’s opening Broadway and now on National tour, it has played to great critical and popular acclaim. AVENUE Q remains one of Broadway’s biggest and most enduring successes, playing to enthusiastic audiences 8 times a week in New York and now in your backyard!

The New York Times hailed AVENUE Q as "a breakthrough musical of a very different stripe. Savvy, sassy and delicious!" and Entertainment Weekly claimed it was "one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see!"

AVENUE Q returns to Atlanta from May 18-23 at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. For general ticket information, call 800-982-2787 or visit www.ticketmaster.com.

Due to adult situations (like full-puppet nudity), AVENUE Q may be inappropriate for kids under 13.

The Atlanta Broadway Series, created in partnership by WH Management Group and Key Brand Entertainment, is a new series of blockbuster Broadway programming presented at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, a state-of-the-art venue that opened to popular and critical acclaim in September 2007.
